The American Legion
The American Legion Post 109 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 109 provide programs for veterans, their families, youth and community through annual events. WWII and Korean War veterans have generously devoted their time and talents to the hall for decades, however with only six local Auxiliary members and five Legion members, the hall has been deteriorating over time due to lack of funds.
The community foundation awarded the Legion a grant to replace the building's siding, furnace, water lines and new flooring. "By providing financial assistance to the Natoma American Legion Post 109 restoration project, the iconic building will continue to provide a special place to initiate programs for veterans, active military, their families, children, youth, and community," said grantee Laah Tucker.
