Osborne County Hospital

Osborne County Foundation board members contacted many entities in the county in April to ask what their needs were. The hospital needed additional equipment in order to help treat patients with breathing problems related to COVID-19. OCCF was happy to be able to purchase equipment for OCMH to serve that purpose. It will also be useful for asthma patients in the future.

The MaxiVenturi Blenders can be used by the new Respiratory Therapist, Brooke Mick, in lieu of a respirator to treat COVID-19 patients. This can also be used for other health issues such as asthma

Luray Fire Department

Thanks to a grant from the community foundation, the Osborne County Rural Fire District #2, based in Luray, was able to purchase four new sets of bunker gear for their firefighters. The original gear that was replaced was older than some of the members of their current department!

Heart Choices

Grant funding from the community foundation was used to renovate the previous EMS building in Osborne to serve as a location for Heart Choices Pregnancy and Parenting Resource Center to be used to provide free pregnancy and parenting services.

This space has created a bright and welcoming space where women and men can receive free, confidential services related to pregnancy, parenting, and relationships.
